I’m Melissa Walter — a mortgage lender with over 20 years of experience helping people make smart, confident decisions about their homes and finances.
I’ve been licensed since 2004, and over the years I’ve seen just about every market cycle, underwriting shift, and “creative” loan scenario imaginable. That experience allows me to guide clients with clarity and calm — especially when the process feels overwhelming or uncertain.
I specialize in conventional, FHA, VA, and jumbo loans, and I’m particularly skilled at helping self-employed borrowers, buyers with complex financial situations, and homeowners looking to use their equity thoughtfully. I’ve also worked as a forensic mortgage underwriter and REO asset manager, which gave me a rare, behind-the-scenes understanding of underwriting, risk, and how lenders truly evaluate loans. That perspective is something my clients benefit from every day.
Originally from South Florida, I’ve called Orlando home since 1991 and earned my master’s degree from the University of Central Florida. I’m also a mom to an incredible son who keeps me grounded, motivated, and very aware of how important stability, transparency, and long-term planning really are.
